We’ve had a long summer break from full choir concerts but have been getting together for a few smaller events and gigs.
We were delighted to participate in Symfunny, a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of Parkinson’s UK featuring musicians and comedians including Aled Jones, Pete Townshend, Katie Melua, Collabro, Josh Widdicombe and Jack Dee.
At the end of July we returned to Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich as the guest choir for Choral Eucharist. It’s a truly beautiful setting with a very welcoming congregation and we always enjoy our visits there.
We loved performing Handel’s Israel in Egypt earlier in the year, so when the work featured in this year’s Proms programme there was a good group of us who went along. It was as dramatic in the audience as it was to perform and we (mostly) contained the urge to sing along.
We’re now in the process of auditioning to fill a few vacancies and finalising plans for our autumn 2017 weekend get together.
